Results per January 2010:

  • The Thmar Pouk Partnership Secretariat has sub contracted PFD to conduct Pre Identification of Poor Households in Thmar Pouk OD according to the standards of Ministry of Planning. About half of the pre-identification is done so far.
     
  • Agreement was reached with the Ministry of Planning to adapt the national software to add our baseline data for entry and analysis. Special software for the data entry of baseline data will be developed by the same company who develops the national software. A contract on data entry during March /  April 2010 is being negotiated.
     
  • The project partners traveled to Takeo province to study the diabetes peer educator network model there before it is going to be applied in Thmar Pouk.
     
  • On January 15 and 16th, 2010, the project partners together with a representative from WHO, traveled to Takeo province for a 2-day in order to study the existing Peer Educator Network. Main purposes of the visit were:
    a)      meeting with patients, Peer Educators, Hospital Directors, Provincial health          authorities.
    b)      visit a six monthly assessment session with randomly selected members of MoPoTsyo.
    c)      visit a consultation session organized by the peer educators with the Medical Dr at a Referral Hospital which is comparable to Thmar Pouk RH, namely Rominh RH in Kirivong OD.
    d)      visit a private pharmacy contracted by MoPoTsyo.


     

  • 3 out of 10 Peer Educators in Thmar Pouk have been identified, trained, passed the exam and have started to work in their own communities. So far they have found 40 people with diabetes who want to join the membership.
     
  • The OD Director and Hospital Director have appointed staff to cooperate with MoPoTsyo and made available space at the Hospital to do medical consultation for the new members who need to see the Physician.
     
  • The first consultation is planned for Sunday 7 February 2010.
     
  • The first of four pharmacies has been selected and the contract was signed.
     
  • The project Inception Meeting was held in Thmar Pouk on January 19, 2010.
     
  • CAS has developed the research log frame. It has been presented and discussed.
     
  • The next meeting will take place on 24 June 2010, preceded by a project visit on 23 june for the partners and possibly also a representative from the donor agency.
