Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Directly Accountable to: Laboratory Manager

Background: MoPoTsyo Patient Information Centre is a registered Cambodian not-for-profit NGO helping patients with diabetes and/or hypertension learn how to self-manage their chronic disease and prevent complications through Peer Educator Networks in 11 provinces and 25 operational districts. Peer Educators are diabetes patients who have been trained in disease-self-management and who share their skills with other patients in their communities. These networks serve around 25,000 active patients who use the medical services. These services are organized inside the public service facilities. MoPoTsyo works closely with these public services and the Ministry of Health. MoPoTsyo’s laboratory testing activities are an important component of the chronic care system, together with medical consultations, the revolving drug fund and follow-up.

Location: MoPoTsyo operates its laboratory at its HQ in Phnom Penh.

 Salary: Salary will be negotiated based on Experience, and submit your expected salary with your CV.

Laboratory Team: The laboratory team consists of 4 full time qualified lab technicians. Our laboratory produces +/-12,000 profiles annually for our registered members. We are looking for a candidate who meets our requirements: 

Job requirements

  1. Holding bachelor’s or associate degree in laboratory
  2. Be able to work with flexible schedule.
  3. Ability to work with team and to work under little supervision.
  4. Ability to work with people with little knowledge.
  5. Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  6. Proficiency in English
  7. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  8. Candidates must be able to use Khmer and English languages, reading and writing well.

Job description

  1. To collect sample (blood and urine) as scheduled
  2. To perform calibration and QC according to standard operating procedures
  3. To perform the tests for members carefully and accurately as per SOP.
  4. To train peers from the provinces for sample collection activity when needed
  5. To prepare sample collection kit for sample collection activities in the provinces
  6. To check, print, sign and stamp on the results of the members
  7. To request reagents from the stock and store them in the laboratory stock for daily consumption.
  8. To make monthly reagent and test report at the end of each month
  9. To make weekly and monthly maintenance of all analyzers
  10. To pick up or drop off items at the taxi station.
  11. To report any non-conformity to the manager
  12. Other duties as assigned by Manager.
